Cotton Bay Village in Castries is one of the newest holiday experiences in the Caribbean. Cotton Bay Village is not a hotel and it is not a traditional resort. It is perhaps an ideal cross between a private villa self catering holiday and a destination resort. It is a small Village on the East coast of Simply Beautiful Saint Lucia and even though visitors may feel as though they are miles from anywhere because it is so peaceful, the beauty is that it is a stone’s throw from bustling Rodney Bay, just five minutes across the golf course and then a short drive to the shops and restaurants that abound there.
Typically guests here spend time exploring our beautiful island and take advantage of the many beautiful things to see and the exciting things there are to do. The staff at the Visitor Centre can help to arrange virtually anything and are always on hand to call for help and assistance. The Village is an entire experience of St Lucia in itself. It consists of a collection of Luxury Villas, townhouses and apartments. There are two restaurants, a convenience store and boutique, a Deli, Kids club, and a state of the art spa and fitness center. Of course right on the door step there’s an 18 hole golf course as well. Its easy and safe to walk around the Village and because the tropical sun is a trifle hot the walkways are wooden boardwalks so the notion of barefoot elegance is everywhere you go!

“Wow! Cotton Bay Magic!” Having recently stayed in one of the Teracotta houses at the Cotton Bay Village I think I can safely say that my stay was nothing short of magic!! What an idyllic haven for the holiday maker seeking a relaxing yet luxurious break from the fast pace of normal life!
Firstly I must say I was hugely impressed with the exterior and interior design of the villas - so far away from the 'block of concrete' feeling you get from hotels and larger resorts. The cottages have such an individual feel about them and it rather feels as though they have been there forever, blending into their surroundings and not relatively newly built! This is partly due to the tasteful architecture employed but also to the clever planting of mature trees and lots and lots of pretty plants and shrubs. i also loved the wooden walkways around the resort which were flanked by tons of greenery which exuded a 'jungle feel' which was quite exciting and very romantic at night when lit up. The interior of the cottage was very stylish and comfortable yet very functional. I found cooking very enjoyable and easy and was greatly relieved to find a 'starter pack' of basic foodstuff etc., which meant that we didn't have to eat out all the time and that throwing together a quick meal for children was easy. I loved the bathroom design also which contained a very large shower!
As regards eating out I was more that satisfied with the standard of food at Cotton Bay - on one hand you have the Beach Cafe which offered simple and very affordable food and a great view of the beach and on the other the more upmarket Piano Piano Restaurant where one could relax with a cocktail or two before savouring some very good food and excellent service. I must say overall I was very impressed with the service of the staff at Cotton Bay - very professional yet friendly and relaxed - I liked the little touches such as a cocktail on arrival and the beds arranged with flowers - makes you feel special!
The other thing I loved was the huge outdoor pool where one could order lunch and a cocktail and then relax knowing that it was only a short walk back to the villa or to the beach! The villas also have plunge pools and a jacuzzi which is great if you need a bit of privacy.
The beach at Cotton Bay is gorgeous! I was surprised to see nothing but green all around me! So idyllic and rugged with leafy palm trees and locals riding by occasionally on horses looking so chilled out!
All in all i cannot more strongly recommend Cotton Bay to the would be holiday maker who is seeking relaxation (great Spa also), privacy, unbelievable hospitality and tasteful and beautiful surroundings. To be honest, I really had to be persuaded to leave the resort to explore other parts of the island! Truly magic!
