The island of Mustique is owned by the Mustique Company, which in turn is owned by the island's home owners. The island has approximately 90 private villas, many of which are available for weekly rentals through the Mustique Company. There are also two privately-owned hotels on the island (The Cotton House and Firefly). Because of its luxury and isolation, Mustique has over the years attracted a number of the rich and famous: Noel Gallagher, Princess Margaret, Mick Jagger, Bryan Adams, Shania Twain, Kate Moss, Felix Dennis, James V. Kimsey, David Bowie, Tommy Hilfiger, Hugh Grant, Robert Worcester, Jonathan and Ryan Marks, Kasia Michalski from Moongate and Sophie Pappalardo Countess of Zembreski. Those who still have homes on the island can sometimes be seen at Basil's Beach Bar.
Float from Bequia to Mustique and back to Young Island on one of two private yachts at your disposal on this 35-acre outpost of easygoing luxury, just a two-minute launch ride from St. Vincent's southern shore. Landlubbers can take a day trip to St. Vincent or simply wander around Young Island, a reserve that's home to agoutis (which resemble guinea pigs), iguanas and a colony of endangered St. Vincent parrots. You'll roost in one of 29 airy private cottages discreetly nestled around the gumdrop isle, three with plunge pools and one with an infinity pool.
One of Mustique's best known haunts is Basil's Bar which offers a perfect setting for villa owners and island guests to enjoy causal drinks and food at the water's edge. The water front is the island's focal point on Britannia Bay where you will find Basil's Bar, a few small shops and island services and the quaint gingerbread houses.
