Reviews

“Tropical Paradise”

Myself and my fiance had a wonderful time at the Sandals Halcyon Beach resort.

This resort is definately the quieter out of the 3 Sandals in St Lucia it's quaint and intimate and great for those that wish for some peace and quiet.

All the staff at the resort are friendly and helpful and even the gardeners, cleaners say hello to you if they pass you in the grounds.

The tropical gardens are beautiful and well maintained as well as both the pools were great and the beach - I read on one of the reviews that the beach wasnt even white sand - I can say that it definately is along with clean and tidy. There a few locals on the beach trying to sell you bit and pieces but they are so friendly and a polite no is all you need to say if you want them to leave you alone.

All the restuarants were lovely, the food was great and the portions we spot on - there is no way you would want more on your plate and breakfast everyday was amazing so much to choose from - you could literally have a 5 course breakfast if you wanted it!

We also visited the other 2 resorts the Grande and the Regency - they are both much bigger and lots more people at them a bit impersonal for us. We had dinner at Kimono's at the Regency and also Barefoot by the Sea at the Grande - both lovely and the food great.

Our room - Paradise Pool Room if I'm honest was a bit of a let down clean and tidy but just felt like it could have done with a spring clean and paint - not something that bothered me as lets be honest how much time do you really spend in your room!!
I don't believe there is much of a difference between these and the Deluxe Rooms, so not much point in paying to upgrade to a Paradise Pool Room.

I think the bad reviews written about this resort are definately a bit harsh - I am a coporate travel agent so used to site inspections and writing reviews, do not be put off by the bad ones..they are a bit far off the mark!!

Something to note - no bottled water available inclusive but the water in St Lucia is 100% safe to drink, we drank it everyday - no stomache upsets or anything. You do have the option to buy bottled water if you wish from the shop its $1 a bottle.

If you have booked to stay here or are planning too do not worry you will have a fab time!!
